Neal Wilcomer's services include
maintaining the irrigation systems and landscapes he designs and installs. And besides providing
irrigation for lawns and gardens, he can design and add
lighting to a landscape, irrigate plants in
containers, around
pools and
ponds, and above and below
walls.
Adding outdoor lighting can increase safety and aesthetic value of your property. Dark pathways can be lit, focal points such as shrubs, trees or an archway can be highlighted, all with lighting inobtrusively installed. Outdoor lighting also adds value to your house.
For example, outdoor lighting can allow you to safely use the garden at night for parties, or make it possible to sit outside and enjoy your garden at night.

Pond bowl cleaned, resealed, and repainted

Here you can see a landscape renovation that Neal did of a pond in the corner of a backyard. The original landscape design had a bed of African daisies between the lawn and the pond. That looked pretty but the homeowner felt the overgrown ground cover hid the pond from the rest of the yard.
Neal extended the lawn into the pond area, by replacing the ground cover with the rocks you see now at the pond's edge. He planted the grass in between the stones. These changes brought the pond into the landscape as a focal point of the garden. Now the pond invites people to walk up to it and enjoy its beauty and sound.

Besides improving the landscape design, Neal restored the pond itself. He cleaned the pond, recoated it with a sealer to reduce the likelihood of any leaks, then painted it to look as though it had been carved out by a glacier. He removed the ball float and replaced it with an auto filter. This pond uses sand as a biological filter, filtering out dirt and impurities. Neal washed the algae and silt out of the filter sand, which needs to be done every year or two.

Here Funk Landscape joined Neal on a job to build a stone retaining wall. The homeowner planned to self-install a landscape above and below the wall, and wanted an irrigation system to water it.
Neal designed and installed the irrigation system. After project completion, the homeowner planted the plants.

Neal also renovated the irrigation system for the front yard of this same property.

Here we see a garden that Neal maintains. It started out as a landscape renovation with new irrigation and planting.
Now Neal maintains this garden by performing general cleanup and planting seasonal color.

Plants at pool thriving a year after irrigation renovation

|
This landscape next to a pool had drip irrigation but it wasn't working, resulting in unhealthy looking plants. Neal renovated the irrigation system to use spray with IPS tubing, and risers and pop-ups set to the right height for the plants.
