In the Bay Area, lawns need more water than can be supplied by our seasonal rainfall. Here we showcase Neal Wilcomer's work on lawns by illustrating three irrigation renovations and a complete lawn restoration.
Lawn Irrigation Valve Renovation
Here we see the results of an irrigation valve renovation. Before, broken sprinkler heads and a faulty irrigation valve caused uneven watering of the lawn and you can see the brown patches of grass that resulted. Neal replaced the broken heads and changed the irrigation valve, and in the last picture you can see the evenly green grass that resulted.
The pictures show what a little water can do.

Respacing Sprinkler Heads
Here, the sprinkler heads were not providing adequate coverage so they needed to be moved. Neal moved them to the right location. Note the neat work, during and after.

Lawn Restoration
Lawn problems can be caused by too much shade, thatch buildup, weeds, or sometimes they are just old and need to be restored.
This lawn had thin growth and brown spots due to shade. Neal dethatched then overseeded with a shade mix appropriate for the lighting conditions. The photos show the lawn restoration process.
