Irrigation and Landscape Design and Installation

  Favorite Components endblend

When it comes to materials Neal Wilcomer favors the most cost-effective ones that can be installed with ease. Here are two examples of irrigation components he's found to be reliable and effective: IPS tubing to carry water and MP rotators to disperse it.

IPS Tubing

IPS tubing is a reliable and sturdy but somewhat flexible tubing. It's a low cost alternative to PVC, that can be installed without digging up a garden. IPS tubing allows the irrigation system to be pulled up and moved out of the way, then do whatever you want (such as bringing in large equipment or digging up the garden), then put it back in place.

With IPS tubing the risers can be any size (height), so the water can clear the plants for complete head to head coverage.

Neal used IPS tubing as a component of this new irrigation system.

MP Rotators

The MP rotator is a sprinkler head that Neal prefers, because it uses half the water and costs half as much as ordinary rotors. That is, it provides such even coverage that less water is required to irrigate a given area. Here you can see it being used to water shrubs and a lawn.
